El Bolson..

Arrived in El Bolson after a short-ish journey, i.e. 3 hours!,to the Saturday markets in full swing! Before going to the markets we went to the, uniquely, very helpful, tourist office where we found accomodation and so checked in at El Bolson hostel, only 45 days old! We dropped our bags and headed back to the Plaza where the markets were an enjoyable experience, a multitude of stalls where it seemed the entirity of Argentinas dreadlock population had descended, if a little difficult as we continualy had to restrain ourselves from buying everything in sight!

Having arrived late in the afternoon the day consisted of little more than the markets, just a delicious homemade dinner, followed by coffee and ice cream and a eagerly anticipated nights sleep!

Plans for day two in El Bolson were somewhat like those for day one, with the markets being the towns main attraction and taking over the town at weekends, with music playing loudly from the park around which the markets are centred! We had to do some backpacker housekeeping..which involved booking our 27 hour bus.. jobs which left us glad to climb into deckchairs in the back garden of the hostel at 5pm!(deckchairs I later broke, by ripping the material trying to get up after a 1/4 kg of ice cream.. a sign from above I am trying to ignore!!). Evening two was taken up with a bbq in the hostel garden, which was a brilliant experience both for the food(choripan is now a favourite)and the singsong(who knew Argentinian guys would play requests for Eric Clapton, Radiohead, Oasis, Glen Hansard.. even if we did need to provide to vocals!) but with company which was not so entertaining at times!

Headed to bed tired and full after day two, but sleep must have eluded us as reading on day three turned into an afternoon of post check out napping(much to some, more particular, staff member's displeasure!) after which we made dinner (and lunch..our ziplock tupperware boxes are proving invaluable!!)and headed off to face our 27 hour bus! The wait for the bus was made easy by the company of a very entertaining Argentinian couple..who found our pronounciation of the name 'David Norman' hilarious enough to warrant chat with us for quite some time..
